Yes. The curriculum and proficiency demonstration are built to the Breath Alcohol Technician training requirements of 49 CFR §40.213 — the qualification training plus the proficiency demonstration DOT requires before you may conduct breath alcohol tests.
Yes. The knowledge modules are free to work through with no signup. Your one-time $139 covers the part that actually qualifies you: the scheduled live Zoom proficiency demonstration with a qualified evaluator, plus your audit-ready qualification packet.
DOT breath alcohol tests must be conducted on an Evidential Breath Testing (EBT) device from ODAPC's conforming-products list. The curriculum covers the general §40.213 procedures; you complete device familiarization for the EBT you'll use. See our DOT-approved devices list.
A Breath Alcohol Technician (BAT) can conduct both screening and confirmation tests on an EBT; a Screening Test Technician (STT) conducts screening tests only. This program qualifies you as a BAT.
DOT requires refresher qualification training at least every five years, and error-correction training if a mistake causes a test to be cancelled. Your lifetime access lets you refresh the material anytime.
