41 USC §8101 · Federal Contractors Above the Simplified Acquisition Threshold & Grantees

Drug-Free Workplace Act Training

Awareness training that helps a covered federal contractor or grantee satisfy and document the ongoing drug-free awareness program the DFWA requires — the 5 DFWA elements, the written policy, and reporting deadlines. The statute requires the program; it does not mandate any particular course or certificate.

What this training covers

  • Supports the awareness program required of covered federal contractors and grantees — the obligation is the program, not this specific course
  • Covers the 5 DFWA elements, the written policy, employee & employer obligations
  • Workplace drug conviction reporting deadlines (5 days / 10 days / 30 days)
  • Appropriate personnel action, non-compliance consequences (suspension, debarment)
  • State-law overlap (marijuana legalization), DOT overlap
  • Audit-ready certificate with QR-coded verification URL

What’s on your audit-ready certificate

  • The exact regulatory citation (41 USC §8101 · Federal Contractors Above the Simplified Acquisition Threshold & Grantees)
  • Holder’s name and final test score, printed on the certificate
  • A unique ID and QR-coded verification URL — auditors confirm authenticity in seconds at testrightacademy.com/verify
  • Completion date with a 12-month TestRight verification period and a renewal reminder before it expires. This is TestRight’s administrative renewal interval — any retraining requirement that applies to you comes from the underlying regulation, not from this certificate.
Who needs this: Employees of organizations holding covered federal contracts or grants that must maintain a drug-free workplace under 41 U.S.C. §8101 et seq. FAR 26.501 applies the requirement to contracts above the simplified acquisition threshold (FAR 2.101 currently sets that at $350,000), and separately to all contracts of any value awarded to an individual. Acquisitions of commercial products and commercial services are excluded. The old “$100,000” figure is out of date — confirm the current threshold in FAR 2.101 before relying on a number.
