Equipment Financing for Testing Businesses

Starting or scaling a drug & alcohol testing business often means buying gear before the revenue shows up — breath testing devices, instant-test analyzers, lab equipment, even a mobile collection unit. These companies finance or lease that kind of equipment. Use the list as a starting point, then compare offers carefully.

What testing-business financing usually covers

Equipment financing and leasing typically apply to the durable assets a testing operation needs to get running:

How to compare offers

Financing an EBT or an analyzer is a business decision, not just a monthly payment. A few things worth checking before you sign:

Lease vs. finance

With a loan/finance you own the equipment at the end. With a lease you may return, renew, or buy it out — know which one you're signing and what happens at term-end.

The real cost

Ask for the APR (on loans) or the money/lease factor and the total of all payments — not just the monthly figure. Compare the all-in cost across offers.

Term vs. useful life

Match the term to how long the equipment will actually serve you. Financing a device over far more years than it lasts quietly inflates the cost.

Application-only limits

Many lenders approve smaller amounts on a one-page application; larger deals need full financials. Ask where that threshold sits.

Personal guarantee

New businesses are usually asked to personally guarantee the loan. Understand exactly what you're on the hook for before agreeing.

Prepayment & taxes

Check whether you can pay off early without penalty. And ask your accountant whether the purchase qualifies for a Section 179 deduction.
